Inside/Outside is part of The Fiction Project through the Art House Co-op, who have hosted exhibitions for these types of projects at varies galleries around the U.S. and keeps the archive at The Brooklyn Art Library.
This is a 8.25 x 5.25 inch, 40 page lined book filled with handwritten text and artwork made in gouache, pen and pencil. The cover is stitched in embroidery thread and one page is also hand stitched. The book will travel to four different venues across the United States in exhibition before winding up at the Brooklyn Art Library and it will also be digitized on the Art House website.
This project was created entirely out in Joshua Tree, California between April 23 to April 28, 2011 with the help from a grant through the National Arts and Disability Center. Although it is for a project called the Fiction project, it is a work of creative non-fiction documenting a personal account about the five days in Joshua Tree.
This book is not available for purchase.
